ACM SIGCHI
- Association for Computing
Machinery / Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction.International
organisation with chapters in many countries. The scope of SIGCHI consists
of the study of the human-computer interaction process and includes research
and development efforts leading to the design andevaluation of user interfaces.
The focus of the SIG is on how people communicate and interact with computer
systems. SIGCHI serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas among computer
scientists, human factors scientists, psychologists, social scientists, systems
designers and end users. SIGCHI offers its members the "Member Plus" package
and co-sponsors a number of conferences and workshops each year, including
the annual CHI conference. The SIGCHI Bulletin is published quarterly. Among

IABC
- the International Association
of Business Communicators aims at inspiring, establishing and supporting the
highest professional standards of quality and innovationin organizational
communication. IABC has 12,500 members worldwide organised in 119 chapters
119 cities in: Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, HongKong, Ireland, Mexico,
New Zealand, Philippines, South Africa, Spain, UnitedKingdom, and the United

IEEE/PCS
, USA, (INTECOM member) has formed local chapters in some countries,
here listed by country. They have also individual members all over the world.

INTECOM
- InternationalCouncil for
Technical Communication - is the international umbrella organisationfor national
organisations within technical communication. Its members are marked with
a * below. INTECOM is (among other activities) the owner and organiser of
the FORUM conferences, which now takes place every 3 years (previously every
5 years). The last ones were in Dortmund, Germany, November 1995 and in
London, England, June 2000
. The next one is in Milan, Italy, June 2003. The total membership of the
INTECOM organisations was approx. 23.000 in 1995. Since then, it has included
more national organisations, and there are more to come. INTECOM has a web

is an international organisation for companies interested
in product internationalisation, localisation, multilingual documentation,
translation technology and production methods, mainly within software. LISA
